Nowa Nowa Project Scoping and Feasibility Study

When Eastern Iron needed to commission a scoping study, metallurgical testwork, and subsequent feasibility study for a magnetite/hematite resource of 10 million tonnes, they brought us in to figure out their risks and opportunities. The scoping study would also define the multi-disciplined engineering required for the mines processing plant.

The testwork results indicated the mine had the potential to produce a high-grade product. With this knowledge, we worked with Eastern Iron and specialist consultants to devise a plan for a processing plant that produced a beneficial product to potential partners.

Following the scoping study and testwork, we provided a feasibility study that included an open-pit mining operation, crushing and screening plant, non-process infrastructure, road haulage, and export of product through an existing port to support the export of iron ore. An agreement hasn’t been reached with the port operators, which means Eastern Iron will need critical examination of alternative transport and shipping options.
