Enhancing and revitalizing an old marina

Ocean Reef Marina Development

The existing Ocean Reef Boat Harbour in Perth, Western Australia was aging and needed some serious work done. The facilities needed improvements for existing and new marina users—our team was there to help.

Our team is providing landside engineering consultant services for the development of Ocean Reef Marina: a facility that will offer greater tourism experiences, jobs, and a diverse range of housing options. The existing boat launching amenities will be transformed into a world class marina, integrating residential, commercial, public realm and marine facilities. The site will be sensitively developed within the constraints and opportunities afforded by the adjacent significant Bush Forever and Marmion Marine Park. In addition to marine boat facilities, the marina will provide over 500 boat pens, boat ramps, over 1000 new homes, retail and commercial space, an internal beach and more 5,000 parking bays, thereby creating over 900 direct and indirect jobs.

We have been involved in the project for a number of years, refining the development proposal. Stantec’s services include civil and electrical engineering planning, design, approvals, and construction of critical infrastructure for the Ocean Reef Marina. Upon completion, Perth’s harbor will become a vibrant destination for tourists, vacationers, and fishermen alike.
