Ravenswood School for Girls on Sydney’s North Shore, was seeking additional learning spaces to support their senior students’ learning outcomes. The new Student Learning Centre includes 11 classrooms, collaborative learning and breakout spaces, facilities for staff and students and landscaped gardens. The school’s mandate was for the project to be completed within a tight timeframe to minimise disruption to the student terms and HSC (final exam) timetable whilst remaining within its budget.
The award-winning building, which progressed from concept to completion in only 15 months, saw our team deliver hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical engineering design services and contract administration. The project site had challenging conditions with the existing inground services, which we could solve before the construction. Our team assisted in providing innovative design solutions to ensure this unique building fulfilled the client’s requirements and enabled the project to finish on time and budget.
The Ravenswood School for Girls – Senior Learning Centre won the 2020 Master Builders Association NSW Excellence in Construction Award for Private Schools $10-$15 Million, through the contractor Cowyn Building Group.
