Westport

Westport is the Western Australia Government’s planning program to move container trade from Fremantle to Kwinana. This complex program of major infrastructure involves planning for a new port facility in the Kwinana Industrial Area supported by a freight network including road, rail, intermodal terminals, container parks, and logistics operations.

We have been the technical advisor (ports and maritime) since 2021, utilizing our global team of specialists in port planning and design. Our role involved supporting early phase project scoping, definition, and procurement of consultants for the supply chain integrated design and modelling (SCID) package of works. We have also provided specialist technical guidance throughout the SCID and business case phases, covering areas such as port master planning and design, terminal operations, navigation, layout optimization, capacity planning, and automation. Our services extend to road and rail intermodal systems, topside infrastructure, and identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Westport will provide a modern and efficient port and freight network to future proof trade in Western Australia and benefit the local community through economic growth and job creation.
