EU-Hong Kong Policy Dialogue Support Facility

The European Commission aimed to facilitate partnerships between the EU and Hong Kong. They selected our Belgium based International Development team to conduct an engagement project in Hong Kong, targeting civil society, business community, and political institutions.

The goal was to help international cooperation between the EU and Hong Kong in several key domains. These included climate change adaptation and mitigation, green mobility, circular economy, and sustainable finance. Other areas of focus involved Erasmus+ education opportunities, international cooperation on taxation, and due diligence in supply chains.

Among our services, we organized events, produced communications, and analyzed policy developments. We also held 15 events—online, hybrid and in-person—that brought together a large variety of partners, including more than 400 participants from both EU and non-EU companies. For each event, we produced audiovisual materials and pictures, then proposed content for social media. Our team also released 15 policy briefs to underscore important milestones in EU and Hong Kong relations and the way forward in relevant cooperation areas.

Published in June 2024, the EU-HK Annual Report highlighted how this engagement project continued to provide a platform for discussions on various topics between the EU and Hong Kong.
