Mobilizing investments in clean energy in partner countries

GET.invest Program Support

While renewable energy projects abound in competitive markets across sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, a gap is still present between investments and support offered from sponsors and the funding requests from project developers. To overcome key barriers toward rapid progress in climate and development goals, companies and project developers need assistance in spurring investments in renewable energy.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) engaged our team to support their work in the European program GET.invest, co-funded by the European Union, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Austria. We provide GIZ with research results on access to renewable energy and private sector investments in clean energy projects.

Our services include reports on investments in clean energy markets, needs analysis into financing tools available for clean energy projects, mapping of European companies to potentially involve in partner countries’ clean energy markets, and policy briefs around the Africa-EU Energy Partnership. We are also helping with the dissemination of such materials in the form of presentations, webinars, workshops, and roundtables.

In supporting GET.invest’s interventions, these efforts help partner countries meet their clean energy commitments and build long-term capacity to stimulate private sector investments.
