Brantford Sports and Entertainment Centre
The City of Brantford set out transform their downtown and establish a key entertainment district in the province. They wanted a multiuse venue that would serve as a new permanent home of the Brantford Bulldogs Ontario Hockey League (OHL) team and support other sports, concerts, trade shows, and community and cultural events.
The City selected us as part of the progressive design-build team for this project. We’re serving as the lead designer with Graham Construction as the general contractor and Populous as the large sports entertainment advisor, along with other trade and support leads.
Located approximately 100 kilometers (62 miles) outside of Toronto, the Sports and Entertainment Centre will feature 200,000 square feet (18,581 square metres) of newly constructed space, accommodate 5,300 spectators, and celebrate the city’s diverse communities and Indigenous culture.
As part of the Brantford City Council’s approved adoption of a multifaceted financial strategy, the Sports and Entertainment Centre will play a central role in downtown revitalization efforts. The project is expected to generate C$13.2 million in annual economic activity, create new local jobs, and contribute to the civic growth. The City’s long-term partnership with the Bulldogs is also expected to significantly enhance Brantford’s reputation as a sports-friendly destination, fostering increased activity and vibrancy.
