For the fourth and final phase of this utility client’s program, we helped implement a modernization roadmap. It included detailed initiatives and the development of implementation and support programs throughout the organization.
This project phase involved extensive engagement with invested parties, from the senior executive through to the operating teams. We focused on developing and sustaining alignment and buy-in with engagement across all levels of the organization as key advisors on the program’s internal steering committee and subcommittees.
A critical aspect of this phase was the identification and communication of over 125 interdependencies among the 38 development initiative plans throughout the utility. Initiatives included plans for advanced distribution management systems (ADMS), non-wire solutions (NWS), advanced metering infrastructure 2.0 (AMI 2.0), enhanced distribution planning capabilities, and engineering operations improvements. Similarly, initiating this phase required the development of fit-for-purpose program reporting, communications planning, analytics programming, strategic and corporate development advisory, and program management.
As a result, our client successfully launched and implemented their modernization program, maintaining high levels of buy-in and engagement while successfully meeting policy and regulatory, corporate strategy, planning, and grid harmonization targets.
