To accommodate its steady growth in student numbers, the Centre de services scolaires Marie-Victorin wanted to build a new school in the Saint-Hubert borough of Longueuil. Our Building Engineering team helped design a school that fit their needs.
In collaboration with BPA, our team designed this three-story concrete building that uses geothermal energy, superior insulation and triple-glazed windows to optimize its energy performance. The use of ultra-resistant materials was chosen to maximize the building's lifespan. Outside, hundreds of plants were planted, and the courtyard was arranged for both play and learning.
With a capacity of 652 students, the new facility houses over 30 classrooms, a triple gymnasium, a creative laboratory and a library. It lets in plenty of natural light and is fully adapted to the needs the students, staff, and neighbors who will also be able to take advantage of the facilities.
