Pembina Pipeline Corporation needed a company they could trust to construct the terminal facility for their new North Edmonton Terminal–with a significant amount of confidence in Stantec for our pipeline and facilities engineering abilities, they awarded us the project.
We were excited to start the project but Pembina was facing a roadblock–there were some difficulties getting the development permit from the city. By engaging our community development team, we helped to connect them with contacts from the City of Edmonton. The result? We facilitated connections to get the communication going, helping them to get their permit in time for the project’s expected start date.
Built on brownfield land, the design expansion work for this project presented a challenge–we had to work around significant operational and space constraints. This brought out the best in our abilities, and the project allowed us the opportunity to expand our knowledge about the storage, offloading and transportation of butane. The project itself was very schedule and cost driven, and to date, we have made all schedule commitments, keeping it on time and under budget.
