Foxfield District Park Redevelopment

The City of London, Ontario, wanted to take the next step in the development of Foxfield District Park. Their goals for enhancing this much-loved park in the northern part of the city included enhanced and expanded park amenities, native planting, and accessibility improvements. They engaged us to help.

From visioning to implementation, we collaborated with City employees through the conceptual design, detail design, tender, permitting and approvals, and contract administration processes. Our team consisted of landscape architects, engineers, planners, arborists, and ecologists, along with our architecture, structural engineering, and irrigation sub-consultants.

We provided full services for the initial park development for Phase 1 that involved implementing lit multiuse courts, a playground, parking lot, and pathway network. Moving into Phase 2, the newly installed and upgraded amenities include a custom spray pad and picnic shelter, fieldhouse, central plaza, and a fully lit and irrigated Category 3 turf soccer field. We upgraded the sport courts, pathways, and parking lot to meet the current needs of residents and the larger community. Throughout the project, our team addressed feedback from the community and interested parties to reduce disruptions to the surrounding neighborhood.

With these enhancements, Foxfield District Park offers residents an attractive, renewed green space with a variety of recreation amenities.
