Demonstrating a company's heartfelt commitment to community
Over the past 40 years, Gregg Distributors has grown to become a national distribution and logistics leader. Using a spoke-and-hub distribution model, inventory is sent from Edmonton to warehouses throughout the province. In just seven years we have built nine new regional warehouses together. With Gregg experiencing rapid growth the need for an expanded central office and warehouse space presented itself. Working together, our team of designers, architects, and engineers designed GDL Logistix, Gregg’s new office and distribution hub.
While our architects and engineers incorporated cutting edge logistics technologies to automate processes and reduce operating costs, our design team infused Gregg’s corporate culture throughout the facility by using their new brand colors both inside and out. Envisioning a way to demonstrate and celebrate the company’s heartfelt commitment to community, and strong sense of local and national pride, we created a public art installation featuring six-foot light columns with LED lights in rotating colors that can be tailored to local events and seasonal holidays.
The end result? GDL Logistix: a 700,000 square foot state-of-the-art office and distribution centre, and another project win for Gregg and Stantec.
