For nearly 15 years our people have supported Imperial Oil’s integrity practices
In one form or another, we’ve been working with Imperial Oil since 2002. The original contract was for a small team of subject matter experts to support Imperial Oil’s integrity advisor. At the time, Imperial Oil had a vast network of midstream pipelines and facilities across Canada.
In 2008, Imperial began to divest itself of some major pipelines, and eventually the long term IOL advisor retired, so our account looked like it was winding down to a close. However, in 2013, a new IOL advisor created a new corporate strategy for Integrity programs and the contract went to open market with Stantec winning a three-year renewal.
We’ve worked on over 50 pipelines and 50 terminals across Canada for Imperial Oil, and as of this year, our work with them is more expansive than ever. We’ve added a non-technical program account manager for Imperial Oil, we’re delivering integrity services to safeguard their assets, and we’re also on hand for anything else they need, such as providing annual geomatics services to the IOL field projects.
Right now, the integrity program is bigger than ever with a hefty workload totaling to over 20,000 person hours every year. In the years to come, as part of our Exxon Mobil portfolio, we hope to continue helping Imperial Oil with all of their integrity endeavors.
