Building a high-efficiency route through Central Alberta

North Highway Connector

When the City of Red Deer began their 30-year plan to build a unique ring road expressway around the east side of their city, we joined at phase one. Our job? Project management, preliminary and detailed design, tender preparation, and services during construction and post-construction.

The goal is to improve the existing road network and provide a more-efficient means of access for the community to residential and commercial areas–as well as connections to provincial highways. There’ll also be a bypass for large truck traffic that doesn’t need to enter the city.

One component of the project is the North Highway Connector Red Deer River Bridge. A major landmark for the city, it will incorporate architectural features that enhance and add an aesthetic appeal, blending with the river valley and natural surroundings. Additionally, an incorporated wildlife passage will provide a safe and attractive crossing for the busy natural corridor as well as opportunities for treeplanting to replace those taken down during construction.
