Place Ville Marie Panoramic Restaurants - Engineering Design
Ivanhoe Cambridge wanted to make a statement by creating a new destination dining venue perched atop Place Ville Marie to overlook the Montreal landscape. They selected our team designed the electromechanical systems for three restaurants—RoseOrange Terrace, Sora45, and Hiatus—located on the 44th, 45th and 46th floors of the downtown skyscraper.
Prioritizing functionality and safety, we designed a complete new electrical distribution system for each venue. We also created an architectural lighting system, entirely controlled by touchpad to provide adjustable illumination levels, while avoiding reflections on the glass walls that would hinder the panoramic nighttime views. Our engineers developed all-electric professional kitchens to operate at 180 metres (591 feet) above ground level, as well as a heating system to melt snow on RoseOrange’s roof terrace.
Customers who dine at one of these establishments enjoy a true heaven-and-earth experience, tinged with flavor, comfort, and an unparalleled view of the city.
