Taschereau Boulevard on Montreal’s south shore is a busy and lively route for area residents. Over 15 km long and crossing through four large municipalities, the boulevard boasts a wide variety of businesses and amenities in addition to giving access to major regional highways. Because of its strategic location, the Longueuil Transit Network (RTL) wanted to develop a transformational public transit corridor along the boulevard.

Stantec was hired to produce the preliminary design, which included a number of components: urban development, layout, implementation, ridership, traffic, etc. The process was based on an integrated approach combining transportation and land use planning to design an urban renewal project focusing on transportation to maximize the potential for corridor redevelopment.

Thanks to our urban planning experts, the preliminary design is complete and the client is now undertaking the major steps with its partners and government authorities to realize this transformational public transit project.
