Providing Ontario with clean, sustainable energy
Over the course of a year, we helped Northland Power Inc. with the development of nine 10 megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) generation projects that had been awarded under Ontario’s Feed in Tariff Program. The projects were constructed on 85 acres of land, and each site consists of 50K PV solar” modules mounted on fixed structural supports.
We supported this project from start to finish. We provided engineering services and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), human machine interface (HMI), and remote terminal unit (RTU) programming and commissioning services. We also completed the alternating and direct current collector system design, auxiliary system and inverter station design review, updated single line and layout, storm water management and erosion plan. To top it off, we provided the environmental design and services (including dewatering and sedimentation plans), racking foundation design, drainage and grading design, load flow, voltage loss and cable size calculations, support for equipment test report reviews, and programming and commissioning of the SCADA/RTU/Controller.
These projects across Ontario will help ensure a strong, sustainable energy grid for the communities they surround, keeping the lights on for years to come.
