A world class facility designed to support a busy industry

Farmers around the world depend on potash and phosphates to nourish their crops. As the world’s largest combined producer of phosphates and potash, Mosaic mines mineral resources, produces high-quality fertilizers, and markets and delivers products in every key agricultural market around the globe. Potash mining production at the Belle Plaine site has grown ten times over since the site was first constructed in the early 1960’s. Lack of expansion and maintenance over the years has led to outdated and non-compliant facilities.

Addressing these issues head on, Mosaic implemented a 5 year expansion plan. We worked with the client to determine the greatest needs for facility improvement, space consolidation, and code/health and safety issues. With Potash mining on the rise, there are more haul trucks and loaders thus burdening the existing maintenance shops.

Our integrated team designed the consolidation of essential services and shop operations. The new 52,000 SF, 15-service bay fleet building includes a wash bay, general shop, tire shop, and lube shop. We also designed a 60,000 SF Shops building to house the paint booth, blast booth, and pipe fitting bays.
