A two-phase master plan centered around creating a vibrant campus community

A University Campus is about an experience - one that transforms a person’s life entirely. The decisions that create the experience are as important as those for creating the academic content of the institution itself. With this understanding, our design team was commissioned to help create the campus development plan at TRU.

The vision includes the creation of a vibrant campus community that is both pedestrian oriented and a mixed-use destination. Opportunities for the University to generate revenue through private market development on specific parcels are identified in the master plan. The strategy we developed is estimated to generate $23 Million in University revenue.

Upon completion of the overall land use and master plan vision, the planning team continued further with an implementation plan. This consists of deliverables that both fine-tune the master plan and validate the overall land use plan. The implementation plan includes a strategic sustainability plan, design guidelines for both campus and private development, a transportation plan, and a services plan for both power and civil infrastructure.
