Township Road 522 - Grading & Base/Pavement

The County of Vermillion needed to address maintenance issues on the highly traveled Township Road 522. In addition to serving as the artery between Highways 41 and 893, the road featured pipeline crossings, ran through wetlands and buried organics, and posed safety concerns. The County needed a partner who could navigate these challenges and deliver a roadway that met the growing community’s needs. Enter our team to help.

We provided the preliminary and detailed design, tender, construction management, and post construction services for the reconstruction of Township Road 522. Regrading of the road improved its vertical profile through the rolling topography. We also modified the cross-section to minimize the added road width and required surfacing gravel and maintenance until the County could base/pave the project. The project was split between two tenders, expediating the construction of the project, balancing the immediate needs of the community while setting the road up for future resilience and sustainability.

Today, the paved Township Road 522 provides industry and residents with an efficient and durable east-west corridor within the County.
