Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP)
The Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP) parallels the 1,150-kilometre (715-mile) route of the existing Trans Mountain pipeline built in 1953—the only West Coast link for Western Canada’s oil. The expansion increased the nominal capacity of the system from 300,000 to 890,000 barrels per day.
The team behind TMEP needed a reliable construction management and inspection partner, someone that aligned with their vision of a safe, successful, and compliant project. They engaged us to deliver an execution plan that would meet regulatory requirements, reduce environmental and community impacts, and unlock access to world markets for Canadian oil.
Our role involved monitoring the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor work. We also verified compliance with construction standards, engineering specifications, and environmental regulations. Additionally, we worked alongside Indigenous monitors to oversee cultural and archaeological aspects of the project.
This transformational project will define Canada’s energy landscape and contribute to communities across the country.
