When the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador decided to build a new hospital, they first sought out Stantec’s expertise in planning to establish a new master program. Our client recognized that we do things differently when it comes to healthcare design, and this aligned with their future goals.
Rather than super-sizing a traditional hospital model, our team looks at how hospital systems functions. When process improvement drives the design, the infrastructure for better healthcare is designed right into the building. Based on this philosophy, our healthcare process improvement specialists in Alberta and Ontario regularly collaborate to help clients find ways to manage the largest portion of their operating budget—service delivery.
Our master program set the groundwork for efficient service in the safest possible environment for patients and staff. In the future this will minimize stress, wasted time, and supply costs. Our client was pleased with how we developed this vision through the planning work we’ve done and they’ve engaged us to follow through with the next phase.
