Bringing peace of mind and protection to the Winkler community

When the City of Winkler identified a need for expanded emergency services, we answered the call. We partnered with the City and community residents to deliver expanded emergency services for the city and surrounding communities.

A new two-storey community fire hall houses the operations facilities for the Southern Emergency Response Committee, an emergency relief and management organization for the communities of Winkler, Morden, Stanley and Plum Coulee. The fire hall includes six vehicle bays, fire hose training tower, smoke simulation space, multi-purpose space, kitchen area, fitness room, dormitory capabilities, and a museum gallery for educational and fire safety tours. Along with an inviting entry, the facility design achieves community connection through preservation and display of historical remnants of the old Winkler Fire Hall and memorial pieces that speak to local firefighters and their service over the years.

The facility is the recipient of a Fire Industry Equipment Research Organization (FIERO) Award of Merit. The FIERO Awards recognize design excellence in fire station or related facilities design, as judged by fire service personnel with degrees in architecture.
