Our client, a multinational manufacturing company, needed to conduct a site decontamination before transferring ownership to buyers. Our job? We were commissioned to address oil and asbestos contamination.
First, we conducted an investigation to confirm the presence of oil and asbestos contamination at the site. Second, we developed a comprehensive decontamination plan based on the investigation results. The oil-contaminated floors and walls were cleaned by pressure washing and scrubbing with an environmentally-friendly cleaning agent. The asbestos-containing equipment was disassembled, and the asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) were collected and wrapped up in accordance with the ACM cleanup procedure developed by Stantec. All generated wastes were sorted and labeled for further disposal by licensed vendors.
The oil and asbestos contamination at the site was eliminated after the decontamination, and the client finished the site transferring successfully.
