Development and implementation of a comprehensive decontamination plan for a site with oil and chemical contaminations

When our client set out to remove decommissioned equipment at their power generation site,  they commissioned our team to perform decontamination for the equipment and the facilities that have been contaminated during operations.

After on-site investigation and sampling, we developed a comprehensive decontamination plan. The residual oil, liquid, and powder within the equipment and affiliated facilities were drained prior to disassembling. We provided spill prevention and control support during the equipment disassembling, and all disassembled equipment parts were cleaned using an environmentally-friendly cleaning agent. The floor and inner walls at the equipment site were also cleaned after disassembling. We provided waste management services, including waste collection, classification, labeling, and transportation supervision.

The proposed decontamination activities were completed safely and in time. No contamination issue caused by the disassembling and transportation of the equipment occurred. With those areas cleaned, the client was able to use the space for other purposes.
