Arena Sanremo

Almost a century after its opening in 1932, Arena Sanremo is ready to be modernized and better integrated into the surrounding urban area. Sanremese Calcio, the home team, contracted us to provide urban, structural, environmental, energy, plumbing, and traffic and parking management design.

Initially serving 1,250 spectators, Arena Sanremo will be increased to a seating capacity of 6,500. A semi-transparent retractable roof, designed by one of our partners, will provide full enclosure, bringing the stadium to a capacity of 13,000 people for events and concerts. Innovative and sustainable technologies—including rainwater harvesting and reuse systems as well as solar and geothermal energy—will create an environmentally-friendly facet to the upgrade.

To integrate the arena into the urban fabric, we’re improving the road system with new green areas and pedestrian paths as well as parking areas equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles.

When finished, the new Arena Sanremo will be an open-area, sustainable, multipurpose facility ready to serve all of Sanremo.
