Biella Waste Water Treatment Plants and Sewerage System

The Province of Biella has significant industrial influence, predominantly in the textile sector. With over 400 textile companies, a population of approximately 190,000 citizens, and an under-performing integrated water service system, Cordar S.p.A. Biella Servizi needed new solutions when it came to water treatment.

For nearly 15 years, we helped Cordar design and construct three wastewater treatment plants in service of 50 municipalities. The three wastewater treatment plants—Biella, Cossato, and Massazza—and their collection networks have a total population equivalent capacity of 710,000, and the entire network counts over 130 kilometres of pipeline.

The work began in the early 80s, but after our contributions and nearly three decades of continuing improvement, the people of the Province of Biella have a stronger, more reliable wastewater system.
