Our client wanted to establish a rooftop bar on a panoramic terrace in the Municipality of Segrate, overlooking the city of Milan. We were brought in to complete the architecture, interior design, and related services on the new bar, which shares its building with offices and a university complex.
One key goal? To match the fantastic views with a welcoming and beautiful space. We designed the architectural shell with a painted micro-perforated sheet metal covering. The new "skin," in addition to defining the new volume, helps hide the rooftop systems and technical assets from customers.
We also redeveloped the entire roofing floor—converting the space into a terrace for events. The design included replacing the existing flooring, restoring and adapting the parapets with metal mesh portions, and installing new seats and green tubs, which serve as small alcoves for dining.
With this new rooftop bar, our client has enriched the building's service offering. The new rooftop configuration creates a versatile and welcoming space, suitable for hosting events and offering a new meeting and socialization point.
