Providing care with comfort in mind
The facility is organized around the dialysis treatment “pods”, which are strategically positioned on each side of the building’s core to give patients access to natural light. The design incorporates comfortable patient stations, VIP rooms, pediatric stations, and isolation rooms for dialysis treatment. Treatment support spaces and nurse stations are centrally located to allow appropriate monitoring of patients. Corporate offices and training rooms are located on the second floor.
With comfortable care in mind, the 68 dialysis treatment stations have therapeutic chairs, flat screen televisions, and outdoor views. Metal and glass sunscreen shields soften the natural light and maintain patient privacy. Family and visitors enjoy naturally lit lounge areas and a café with outdoor garden space.
Interior finishes, architectural and landscape design, and mechanical systems support Abu Dhabi’s LEED equivalent “Estidama.” Setting new standards for care, this facility encourages physical health and positive energy through natural light, patient-centered accommodations, and energy-conscious systems.
