Mercy Hospital Master Planning Advice

Mercy Hospital provides specialist elective surgery and treatment to patients in the Otago/Southland region. It is not-for-profit and serves as one of the largest private hospitals in the area.

We have been assisting Mercy Hospital with master planning advice and specialist services design solutions for over 10 years. Most recently, we provided services for the intensive care unit (ICU) relocation, the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) extension, a new operating theatre, new offices, Marinoto Clinic first floor fit-out, and pacific radiology relocation. This included mechanical, medical gas and hydraulic design services. Given the site is a working hospital, these projects are being staged—part of our work is to help the site continues its client services in a live environment, while construction is underway.

The expansion plans are part of the Hospital’s ongoing commitment to modernizing and enhancing its services to meet the healthcare needs of the growing and aging population in the region. The new operating theatre will significantly increase the hospital’s surgical capacity and provide more options for patients seeking specialist elective surgical services.
