Driving energy efficiency and sustainable practices across Türkiye

Energy Efficiency in Households and Buildings Initiative Support

Partnering with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, we are helping deliver the Energy Efficiency in Households and Buildings initiative in Türkiye. This project is funded by the European Union and administered by the World Bank on behalf of the EU through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (EU/IPA) Energy Sector Program Phase III. The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to integrate climate considerations into the energy sector and scale up renewable energy, as well as raise awareness and build capacity to reduce emissions and improve housing affordability.

We are leading a comprehensive national campaign informed by behavioral science to inspire lasting change. From engaging digital content and educational games to school competitions and targeted messaging across social and broadcast media, we’re creating tools that resonate with communities. Alongside awareness efforts, we’re delivering technical building audits, developing calculation tools to measure energy savings, and proposing sustainable financing mechanisms to support the transition to energy efficient technologies.

By strengthening institutional capacity and empowering households, this project will enhance energy security, reduce emissions, and improve quality of life.
