Redbridge Recycling Transfer Station

Reusing a site to recycle waste

The environmental impact investigations had many facets

Located on an old landfill, within close proximity to a site of special scientific interest, and the Oxford view cone, the planning approval for the new Redbridge Recycling Transfer Station was complex. Our job? Collaborating with the Oxford City Council on the feasibility, design, planning, and delivery of the facility.

As well as acting as the planning agent for the development, we provided a suite of technical services including ground investigation, flood risk and drainage, transport, ecology and arboriculture advice, air quality and odour, acoustics, and landscape and visual assessment.

Following a successful planning determination, we supported the City Council by providing programme management and procurement support in the delivery and development of the facility related to utilities, civils, structures, and mechanical and engineering services. The new transfer station will provide both financial and environmental efficiencies for recycling collection in Oxford.
