Thoughtfully designed to maximize land use and cater to the public and private realms
Our architect and interior design teams for 17 West sought to create a sophisticated atmosphere for both the public and private realms. This was achieved by developing design strategies that allow the public to interact with the design, while creating private moments for the residents.
This project maximizes land use and is designed to property lines. To shrink the building’s size at street level, a horizontal architectural screen comprised of vertical elements was introduced on the second and third levels, above the 27,000 square feet of retail space, which hosts a grocery store. The architectural screen along every façade is the primary design element that sets the tone for the overall aesthetic. The rhythm, alternating patterns, and juxtaposition allows for an inviting pedestrian experience for residents and visitors alike.
The design of 17 West is sensitive to the rapid growth, pedestrian experiences, and natural tones of Miami Beach. The architecture and interiors have a natural theme that include green spaces and earth-toned materials.
