Activating a patient-centered care model to support the social and medical health of patients in need

Our local architect, engineers, and interior design team was honored to join a dedicated P3 team in delivering a highly-anticipated veterans outpatient clinic—the Veteran Administration’s Health Care Center in Pennsylvania.

Designed to support the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, the Health Care Center responds to a broad spectrum of veteran needs. By physically and programmatically placing the patient at the center of their own care, the new facility serves not only patients and their physicians, but also families, friends, and caregivers.

The Health Care Center houses nine PACT service areas, each of which implements exams rooms with two doors—one for the patient, the other for healthcare providers. From medical exams to therapy and other treatments, services come directly to the patient to greatly reduce travel time and confusion. Each PACT service area—including one exclusively for women—features its own waiting room.

Our design, in collaboration with Mascaro Construction Company and Cambridge Healthcare Solutions, contributed to the smooth delivery of the facility.

Meet Our Team

Timothy Cowan, Principal

My duty is to listen, act and serve. Projects reflect both my knowledge and experience and my client’s thoughts and expertise.

Jason Decheck, Associate

Successful projects not only focus on the architecture or engineering but also on the people, which influences the final product.

Richard Gaines, Principal

It’s not how brilliant you are. It’s how hard you work. In anything you do—what you put into it is what you get out of it.

Glenn Miller, Senior Associate

I am committed to making our communities better places to live by addressing client needs with creative solutions.

Charles Parker, Senior Associate

I am proud that the design work I perform has a positive impact on the quality of life for patients receiving care.

John Reddick, Senior Associate

A career in architecture and client service can be a challenge but is also rewarding. It is difficult to do part-time.

Bryon Schmidt, Principal

Seeing teachers and students excited about what you’re designing as an engineer is really cool.

Carl Shilling, Principal

Sustainability and energy conservation is key in healthcare. It’s a 24/7 solution for facilities that serve our communities 24/7.
