Abrdn (Aberdeen Standard Investments) - US Headquarters Relocation

Abrdn, a financial services firm, relocated their headquarters in the United States to a premier building in Center City Philadelphia. The new building has a unique internal atrium which provides access to daylight throughout the entire 52,000 square-foot (4,830 square-metre) floorplate. Abrdn engaged us to accomplish their workplace goals of collaboration by creating comfortable workspaces to bring employees together. The result? A design that embodies Abrdn’s values of being people-focused, sophisticated, and agile.

The workplace is defined by a balance of soft, natural materials that intertwine with a techy aesthetic, providing collaboration opportunities throughout. Our design principles celebrate dynamic architectural gestures and include visual interest along the corridors and atrium to provide moments for interaction—atrium planter walls are used as space separation to keep the space open and take advantage of natural light. By having both open and closed collaboration spaces, a variety of postures and meeting configurations can be achieved.

Additional amenities include a generous hub, gaming area, and fitness center. A large training room, with an operable partition, opens to the hub dining area and serves as the anchor for the workplace.
