An office featuring amenity spaces to welcome visitors, and agile meeting spaces that support collaboration
One of the “Big Three” management consulting firms, BCG Global maintains more than 80 offices worldwide with over 6,000 consultants. The BCG home office houses The Business Services Team, which provides support to BCG’s visionary consulting. For the new home office, BCG envisioned a flagship workplace, one that was responsive to the group’s distinct and varied processes, familiar to visiting consultants, and expressive of BCG’s brand.
Our central challenge was to craft flexible workspaces that facilitated collaboration and supported employees who work extended hours to be available to partners around the world. With the family room, reached by a focal staircase, employees can make use of comfortable lounge seating and warm task lighting, providing a retreat in a relaxed, residential atmosphere.
At BCG, professional development pairs same-function senior and junior staff in shared offices to enable continuous, casual knowledge-sharing. To support this approach, our design team devised a universal office size with a flexible furniture solution that converts from one-person to two-person use. This solution increased the overall seat count by over 50%.
