Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority Financial Planning

The Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA) processes and supplies around 20 million gallons (76 million litres) of drinking water daily to over 60,000 customers. Anticipating the impacts of rising inflation, BJWSA wanted to review their long-term budget and improve planning. They reached out to our team to help.

We focused in on key factors affecting the operational budgets like construction costs and wage pressures. We also actively engaged key parties, guiding them through the forecast and encouraging them to voice their concerns. This collaborative approach aimed to reach a consensus on cost escalation factors. We then created scenarios to show potential outcomes and offered tailored strategies for each one.

By leveraging accurate inflation forecasting, BJWSA can better plan for future costs and adjust rates proactively. This helps reduce the financial burden on customers and provides more stable, predictable rates for the community.
