BMO wanted to spur mixed-use redevelopment in the Milwaukee central business district, and a prominent street presence for its ground-floor retail branch would be key to realizing that vision. The BMO Harris Financial Center would act as a flagship for the brand, while also acting as a brand ambassador to the community.
Stantec designed both the workplace and retail component of the branch in alignment with BMO Harris’s new Workplace Experience (WE) standards. We introduced a calming color scheme to welcome employees and guests the moment they arrive in the building. The customer facing reception area and conference center flourish with an ample amount of natural light balancing out the warm wood tones found on the walls and ceiling. Employees can connect at cafes on each floor or take advantage of the outdoor landscaped terrace for respite. Our design balances the availability of open and private spaces, and collaboration and concentration.
This new addition to the Milwaukee skyline serves as a connection point to the community. The result of our design is a balance between the reliability of a trusted business invested in the local community and an expression of a contemporary and relevant brand identity.
