A beautiful, historic building and its grounds being used for childcare

When Boston University (BU) wanted to expand and relocate the BU Children’s Center—a daycare center that serves BU staff, faculty, and graduate students—they chose a three-story, historic mansion in the Cottage Farm Historic District of the Town of Brookline.

The project is to convert the main building, supporting garages, and large private yard into a daycare facility serving children up to age five, and will also provide space for the Family Resources Office. Our work will include managing the concept design through construction documents, regulatory permitting, construction oversight, move in, and close out.

When completed, the new BU Children’s Center increase the number of children served from the current capacity of 33 to 92.
