This high-speed rail will connect communities from San Francisco to San Diego.
The California High Speed Rail (HSR) system will eventually encompass more than 800 miles of rail with up to 24 stations from the San Francisco Bay area to San Diego. We’ve partnered on two consecutive construction packages with two separate teams.
On construction package (CP) 2–3 we’re acting as an extension of HSR Authority (HSRA) staff, assisting with the technical quality review and preparation of environmental documents, permits, and plans. We also mobilized multiple disciplines—engineers, planners, and scientists—to complete engineering, right of way, verification and validation, and third party and utility oversight. On CP 4, we’re preparing the environmental compliance documents for CEQA/NEPA, leading biological and cultural resources field studies, and leading the project re-examination process.
The HSR system is the State of California’s largest infrastructure investment in the last 50 years. This scale, coupled with the complexities of the programmatic environmental review approval and design build contract structure, has kept us at the forefront of guiding the HSRA through the myriad of challenges facing the overall project.
