Expanding fine arts education with a modern performance venue to support arts as an important tool for academic achievement
Round Rock Independent School District realized their ability to support fine arts education with one districtwide Performing Arts Center would soon be outpaced by growing student interest in these programs. To prepare to meet demand, they looked to our architectural team to design four additional on-campus auditoriums.
Providing architecture and interior design services for the Cedar Ridge High School auditorium, our aesthetic expression invites the audience to become part of the performance from the moment they arrive. Lobby lighting is visible from the parking lot and can be color-tuned to match the performance, while display cases promote themed student artwork. Our gradated color palette leads the audience from the lobby to the stage. We also introduced specialty spaces like an orchestra pit, a full fly tower, a green room, and an on-site scene shop to support high-caliber performances and inspire discovery and exploration.
From back of house services to modern technology and acoustics, the new auditorium is a fully operational theatrical setting. The facility fuses innovative design with leading-edge production capabilities and both modern and traditional equipment to provide students with a well-rounded, hands-on experience in fine arts education.
