City of Clermont Computerized Maintenance Management System Implementation

The City of Clermont’s Public Services Department wanted to improve how they manage city assets throughout asset life cycles by centralizing maintenance activity. They aimed to boost efficiency, connectivity, information sharing, and better integrate their enterprise asset management system. This would include software, systems, and services for asset maintenance and control. They engaged us to help.

Serving as program manager, our implementation team collaborated with the Department’s core team to form a project partnership. This facilitated a smooth and timely transition of the Department’s existing work order and asset management data into a new computerized asset management system—Enterprise Asset Management. We evaluated and analyzed individual or grouped assets for their capital, operating, and maintenance histories and costs. We also sought to better define asset valuation and condition rating data as well as more effectively capturing billing information and work history activities.

Throughout the implementation, we provided key services including planning and coordination, software installation support and configuration, data conversion and migration, training, and rollout support. We also helped streamline business processes for field crews by integrating the City’s geographic information system, financial, and supervisory control and data acquisition systems.

With the project complete, the City now uses this connectivity and information sharing to help support their business decisions and regulatory reporting—by drawing on an improved understanding of the availability of their assets, usage trends, inventory optimization, and financial information.
