Cleveland Clinic had an ambitious goal—bringing together all their neurological services, spread across eight locations, under one roof on their main campus. This co-location will enhance clinical collaboration and individualized treatment planning, driving better patient outcomes and life-changing research. For this complex undertaking, Cleveland Clinic wanted a tested partner who understands and appreciates their needs and standards. They selected our team to make their vision a reality.
Serving as the architect of record, lead medical planner, and interior buildings engineer, we set out to create healthy spaces that support the patient experience. Our design focuses on accommodating the expansion of patient care, research, and education needs while providing intuitive and efficient wayfinding to make the vast hospital more accessible to patients, visitors, and employees.
When complete, the new Neurological Institute Building will offer a comprehensive array of services such as digitized patient evaluations, imaging, neuro simulation training, infusion therapy, neurodiagnostics, and brain mapping suites. It will also include research space dedicated to investigating new therapies and serve as the nucleus for neurology-related distance health care, digitized data processing, and management, providing access to care for patients who live far away.
The project is being delivered via a collaborative delivery method—an integrated tri-party contract between Cleveland Clinic, Stantec, and Turner Construction Company. This delivery model has facilitated early collaboration and enabled compression of the design schedule and a fast-track delivery.
The project is on target for completion in December 2026.
