Clovis Trail Planning and Design

The City of Clovis wanted to create a continuous, accessible multiuse trail from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Greene Acres Park. They reached out to our team to help.

We began by conducting a comprehensive public involvement process, hosting a dedicated public meeting to share multiple design alternatives and solicit feedback from residents. This input will play a crucial role in determining the most suitable alignment for the trail, so that the final route reflects the needs and preferences of the community.

The proposed trail will serve as a vital link between Bob Spencer Park and Greene Acres Park, tracing the path of an existing drainage channel. By following this corridor, the trail will not only provide scenic views but also enhance connectivity to numerous recreational amenities. Users will enjoy convenient access to a variety of facilities including softball and football fields, pickleball courts, fishing spots, and playgrounds. Additionally, the trail will connect to sidewalks adjacent to the local high school, further supporting safe and efficient movement for students and residents alike.

Our design also includes lighting infrastructure for safety and visibility as well as wayfinding signs. These signs will guide trail users to key destinations such as parks, business establishments, and other trail systems throughout Clovis. We aim to create a user-friendly experience with the system, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate the city’s recreation network and discover new opportunities for outdoor activities.

When complete, the trail will not only enhance multimodal access but encourage active lifestyles and strengthen connections across Clovis.
