    Denver, Colorado

A new urban jewel for downtown Denver

Sports fans and the residents of Denver are increasingly looking for an enriched experience when spending their entertainment dollars. Recognizing this desire, the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club reached out to our team to develop a long-term vision and master plan to create a vibrant new urban space adjacent to Coors Field where families, fans and residents can linger, talk, celebrate, and appreciate the uniqueness of their community.

Located in Lower Downtown Denver (LoDo), the West Lot connects the ballpark to a neighborhood that has dramatically transformed itself into a vibrant downtown precinct over the past 20 years with direct access to Union Station and RiNo district, making it a critical urban connection point.

The master plan is centered around a public plaza, creating an urban experience that acts as a gateway to Colorado and the Rockies franchise. A new Rockies Hall of Fame and public gathering spaces combine with urban retail and restaurants, multi-family residential development, hotel, and office spaces to create a rich urban fabric which promotes and enhances pedestrian connectivity and creates a sense of place through environmental graphics, intuitive wayfinding, art, landscape, and iconic, interactive technology features.

The plaza will become a pre- and post- game gathering place for Rockies fans. But beyond baseball, it will serve as a new “outdoor room”, a year-round destination that can host neighborhood concerts, festivals, and other public activities. The development will be the first place that locals bring visitors for an iconic Denver experience—one that celebrates the region’s environment as a world class extension of Coors Field’s successes and the LoDo community.
