Remediating chlorinated solvent and metals impacted property in a karst setting
The former facility once manufactured printed circuit boards. The facility property occupies approximately 80 acres and historical releases of chlorinated solvents and metals have impacted the soil and groundwater associated with the former facility, which now requires remedial action. The geologic setting is a clay rich soil over limestone bedrock leading to karst development.
Remedial activities have included electrical resistive heating and soil mixing with zero valent iron for impacted soil and pump and treat activities and in-situ bioremediation for groundwater.
