Local staff are key to serving the City of Fargo Landfill for the past 30 years
Solid waste management is key for communities to run smoothly. Stantec has been fortunate to be a responsive partner of the City of Fargo, North Dakota with a focus on solid waste management since 1989. Our vision for the city is to minimize waste disposal and maximize energy recovery by developing safer, more efficient means of managing waste.
Alongside City staff, our local Fargo team provides administration, collection, disposal, and recycling services. Our solid waste work has been integral to achieving local and regional milestones, from permitting and constructing the first regional Subtitle D landfill to developing the City’s renewable energy portfolio. Our work on this portfolio includes design and equipment procurement for a compressed natural gas (CNG) system, which converts landfill gas for collection vehicle fueling.
Our partnership has allowed Stantec and the City to provide exceptional service to the community at the forefront of environmentally proactive solid waste management. Our approach to solid waste management considers long-term solutions, incorporates new technologies, and serves public and private needs—all while considering environmental impacts with a sustainable, proactive, and protective approach.
