Bringing a hotel landmark into the future while still respecting its iconic past

From its completion in 1930, The Carlyle has offered a top of the line stay for New York City guests. Closing in on its century mark, the hotel has required careful attention to keep providing the very best services to visitors.

Since 2014, we have provided engineering services to help maintain the pinnacle of luxury at this landmark. When this award-winning property needed a full upgrade of the infrastructure and buildings systems, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts turned to us to create a state-of-the-art system for the facility.

Our services included the design and replacement of antiquated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as fire protection, fire alarm, telecommunication, and security systems. The age of the structure presented several unique challenges that we addressed and overcame including site lines for new cooling towers, tight space conditions for new emergency generator and chillers, variances with local code officials for the sprinkler and standpipe system, and a phased fire alarm system replacement. Phasing played a key role during construction, allowing daily operations to continue with limited disruptions to guests and full-time private residences.

Today, The Carlyle stands ready to provide continuing luxury and comfort for many years to come.
