Harboring a home for science, engineering, and math studies at Delaware County Community College
Two buildings designed by our team: a 32,000 square foot technology facility, and a 100,000 square foot science, engineering, and math building are home to the sciences for Delaware County Community College students. Situated adjacent to an existing academic building and Founders Hall, the complex also serves as the new public face of the college. Its location creates a student-friendly courtyard and encourages a relationship between the campus community and the environment.
The STEM Complex promotes the sciences on campus, supports vocational training for students and workforce development for local businesses, and better connects the college with the surrounding business community. Sustainable design features of the LEED Silver certified facility include a green roof, energy efficient systems, recycled materials, and daylight harvesting. Students enjoy the modern, sustainable learning environment. In it they have the tools and spaces needed for small-group collaboration, hands-on learning, use of multimedia, smaller class sizes, as well as support for multidisciplinary approaches.
