DeVargas Skate Plaza

A design that reflects Santa Fe’s historic features, integrates beautifully with its surroundings, and welcomes the whole community – that’s what our design achieved thanks to creativity and collaboration. Our team worked with the City of Santa Fe and a Skate Park Core Focus Group, comprised of top skateboarding professionals, the skateboarding media, and industry, to develop this wheel friendly skate plaza with ADA accessibility and pedestrian pathways.

The park plans include adequate community ingress and egress, off-street parking spaces, wheel friendly environments within the park, and green technology, such as the design of rain gardens to capture runoff.

We provided a host of services from planning through design and construction support. We conducted public meetings and design charrettes with the community, and developed a sponsorship package to generate revenue. The result was support from the Tony Hawk Foundation and several skateboarding industry businesses. We also developed schematic, conceptual, and final design, as well as 3-D modeling, cost estimates, construction documents and administration, and grand opening assistance.
